Meet Our Team
Patricia Hohl (she/her/hers)
Hello and welcome!
Whatever brings you today, thank you for being here. Finding a therapist that is a “good fit” is critical to the healing process. Yet, it’s been my experience that the process can be daunting. I hope the info below will be helpful in your discernment. Please note you can also schedule a 15 minute complimentary consultation with me to assess connection and ask questions.
As a trained social worker, I approach mental health from a “person-in-environment” perspective. This means in addition to focusing on individualized needs and challenges, I invite the exploration of how different systems and ideologies (our families, communities, cultures etc.) impact our development, past history and current reality. I believe in the healing power of community and connection. In our own therapeutic relationship, I aim to foster connection by showing up empathetically and authentically.
I prioritize a trauma-informed approach and empowerment frameworks, meaning you will be in the driver seat of your therapeutic journey. I also believe discerning and rooting in one’s values can guide transformative growth and be a spiritual reserve in difficult times.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults (mostly in their capacity as parents). I am also seeing couples at this time. I am passionate about supporting people who struggle with anxiety, difficulties with self-confidence and self-image, who are struggling with life transitions, and who are navigating loss and grief. I strive to be an ally to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ populations. My approach is eclectic. Many of the techniques I utilize stem from CBT. I also like to incorporate mindfulness techniques and with children, utilize child-centered play therapy.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked for over 20 years as an educator and in social justice non-profits. I developed a love for walking during the pandemic (we offer walk and talk therapy!), am prone to tv binge watching marathons (will discuss), and feel most grounded in nature. I am most nourished by deep conversation (and laughs!) over food with family and friends. Music is a healing force in my life.
If you’ve made it this far, congrats! I wish you strength and meaningful accompaniment on your mental health journey. And I hope to hear from you if it feels right.
