Meet Our Team
Andrew Tang, LAMFT (he/him/his)
Every client I see proves to be more layered than their most urgent challenge. Your story may also be one of hope and hurt, desire and disappointment, love and loss. My goal as a therapist is to help you tap into all of it and, in so doing, your power to overcome whatever you’re facing.
I help individuals navigate the challenges around family/romantic relationships, cultural/religious beliefs, and identity/life direction. I don’t just want you to feel better, but to further know yourself and to live in greater alignment with your values.
I equip couples to attune to one another, mend open wounds, and partner towards a shared vision for their relationship. Often, attempts to connect backfire, leading to miscommunications, conflicts, and resentments. Couples therapy can help get you back on the same page.
I work with families who are committed to one another, but whose differing perspectives and complicated histories create tension. Maybe you’re trying to be your own person but feel misunderstood. Maybe you’re a parent who feels unappreciated or unforgiven. I want to help rebuild the bridge between you and the people who matter most.
My Approach
I empower my clients to repair wounds, rebuild trust, and rejuvenate connection. At your pace, we’ll consider how your experiences, family background, cultural context, and personal values affect your relationships. From there, we’ll collaborate on how you will choose to move forward.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), I draw from Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT/DBT and Gestalt therapy in my work.
About Me
I seek beauty and wisdom through poetry and great literature. I explore creativity and hospitality through homemade pasta and cocktails. I find peace among mountains, with a cigar in one hand and a pen in the other. I resonate deeply with the words of Leo Tolstoy–
“All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow.”
