Pre-Licensed Therapist

“Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting – over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” — Mary Oliver, Wild Geese

I have thought at times that life can feel like a dark and twisting labyrinth—where we feel trapped, lost, alone, and left behind in an unfamiliar darkness. In times like these, I believe that there are many ways to light the path forward, not least of which is through genuine human connection. Personally, I lean on works like Wild Geese by Mary Oliver, which remind me that I am not alone, and that there is a place carved out for me in the “family of things.” As a therapist-in-training, I hope that therapy can be one of those places for you—one of the many places where you belong, and one of the many things that can begin to light the way forward.

During my time as a master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Northern Arizona University, I have developed a passion for humanistic and existential counseling, as well as for elements of bibliotherapy (using literature, story, metaphor, and more to enhance self-understanding). In essence, I believe that therapy should be a safe, judgement-free place to hunker down outside of the pressures of everyday life and turn inwards. It is an opportunity to have open conversations about the big questions: How do we create meaning in everyday life? How do we escape old patterns? How do we learn to understand and embrace ourselves?

Of course, these questions can feel remarkably vulnerable. As a therapist, it is my job to provide a safe and nonjudgmental place that honors the bravery, vulnerability, and authenticity it takes just to show up. I truly believe in approaching with empathy, curiosity, openness, and an unconditional positive regard for my clients. I want to hear your story for what it is.

I have a passion for working with people as they navigate existential concerns, identity formation, self-reflection, meaning-making, life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and more. I am also deeply interested in working with neurodivergent individuals, and strive to create a safe space that is affirming to all identities.

If you feel like I could be the right fit for you, please feel free to reach out for a complimentary 15-minute consultation.
